Assistant AD - Student-Athlete Development Job at Vanderbilt University
- Under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director, Director of the Ingram Center for Student-Athlete Success, while complying with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations, provide administrative support for programs and student-athlete services including but not limited to: leadership, social impact, personal and career development, as well as NIL programming. This position will work in collaboration with all athletic department staff, including Student Services coordinators, sports psychologists, director of operations, coaches, etc. In addition, this position will collaborate and communicate regularly with multiple departments across campus, Vanderbilt Alumni, community stakeholders, and employers.
50%-NIL Programming. In conjunction with the compliance staff, oversee Name, Image and Likeness education and programming for student-athletes. Collaborate with campus, Vanderbilt Alumni, community stakeholders, and employers on educational initiatives and opportunities. Remain informed on NIL best practices, legislative changes (i.e. NCAA rules, laws), and ongoing trends.
15% - Leadership Development. In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development, develop and implement Be An Anchor Leadership programming. Campus liaison with Office of Student Leadership Development. In conjunction with the Student-Athlete Development staff, manage and coordinate SAAC meetings and initiatives. Provide measurable outcomes and information to coaches and admin regarding leadership initiatives. Management and assignment of advisors to student-athlete affinity groups.
15%- Career Development. In conjunction with the Director of Career Development, i nitiate, foster, and retain employer relationships in a variety of career fields to facilitate partnerships and internships, job shadowing, informational interview opportunities, and career placement for student-athletes. Direct outreach efforts to employers who understand the unique nature and commitments of student-athletes.
10%- Support Student-Athlete Development staff in all programming as related to Welcome Back celebration, Golden ‘Dores Banquet, Senior Send Off and Student-Athlete Graduation Reception, Summer Bridge, advise affinity groups, as well as other programming annually.
10% - Marketing and Communications. In conjunction with Student-Athlete Development and Student Services staff, manage all social media accounts with an annual plan to increase engagement; manage emails and video board weekly for student-athlete events, service events etc. Manage all Teamworks calendars and communication. Create semester programming calendar. Create monthly compliance meeting content for coaches.

- A Bachelor’s degree is necessary .
- A Master’s degree is preferred .
