POSITION SUMMARY

The administrative coordinator for the Academic Success Department and Associate Dean Singer will provide support to the faculty of the Academic Success and to Associate Dean Singer. This position is a full-time position requiring strong scheduling, data entry, and event coordination skills. The coordinator must also be qualified to input data, conduct research, and produce reports on sensitive confidential student and graduate information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Scheduling/Coordinating

  • Set and maintain appointment schedule and calendar of events for the Academic Success faculty and fellows and for Associate Dean Singer (five hours per week).
  • Prepare and distribute 1L student bar registration surveys (two hours per week).
  • Schedule and follow up on 1L individual student bar registration appointments with Associate Dean Singer (five hours per week).
  • Prepare and process bar stipend applications and track stipend award recipients (one hour per week).
  • Schedule and follow up on probation student meetings with Associate Dean Singer (one hour per week).
  • Schedule and coordinate Academic Success events, including, but not limited to 1L Legal Skills sessions, supplemental bar preparation classes, snacks and meals for graduates studying for the bar examination, hotels and meals for bar examinees and faculty/administrators attending the bar examination, and bar induction ceremonies (ten hours per week).
  • Coordinate text messaging system (two hour per week).
  • Print and distribute materials for Bar Prep Skills, Florida Fundamentals, and supplemental bar preparation classes (two hours per week).
  • Prepare agenda for and produce minutes of weekly ASP faculty meeting (two hours per week).

2. Data Input/Research/Reporting

  • Input results of student bar registration surveys (two hours per week).
  • Research student and graduate status in Colleague and social media sites (two hours per week).
  • Prepare and maintain bar exam statistics master data file (two hours per week).
  • Track student performance in Bar Prep Skills and Florida Fundamentals courses (two hours per week).
  • Produce reports on student and graduate bar results (two hours per week).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in administrative support and coordination, preferably in an academic or law institution.
  • Mastery of Canvas, graphic design programs, and all Microsoft Office programs, including, but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Event coordination experience.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Tuition Benefit

After 1 year of continuous full‐time service, employees are eligible to enroll in STU’s bachelor and master courses, tuition‐free. The program will cover a maximum timeframe of 125% of credit hours attempted toward the degree program. Employees may enroll in STU’s doctoral program, with a 40% tuition discount, under the same conditions.
