Main Mission

This role will be the technical lead supporting the global Electronics CAD effort, consisting of insuring quality of schematics, PCB layout and library components using Altium Designer. The primary focus will be to coordinate and standardize the E-CAD efforts, refine, train and champion best practices.

The primary responsibilities include

• Define and refine best practices for Altium schematics, layout and industrial files.
• Develop and maintain processes for PCB/PCA development, harness development, library component creation.
• Standardize board layout review process to provide consistent, quality industrial files.
• Establish common design rules (DFM/DFT) embedded in the tool and ensure these practices are understood and followed for E-CAD work performed in-house or by outside vendors.
• Work with the M-I Librarian to ensure quality library sources.
• Investigate underutilized Altium features and introduce to the global EE team.
• Research and recommend tools outside of Altium (DFM, DFT, Signal Integrity, Simulation)
• Ensure proper interfacing with M-CAD community by supporting ECAD/MCAD collaboration.
• Administer the ECAD license pool, including needs assessment and budgeting.
• Job function would include administering the following E-CAD functions

  • Library generation and maintenance
  • Industrial file review
  • Link to the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Master Data

• Position will be required to oversee all E-CAD operations for the company, both internal and external.
• Requires excellent communications, organization and coordination skills.
• BS/MSEE with 10 Years’ experience in PC board design or administration, 5+ years direct experience with Altium Designer preferred.
