Description:Salud provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare to underserved low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County. We began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront “free clinic,” and with the ever growing need for health services in 1992 became a federally qualified community health center (FQHC). Today we are a primary health care network with 11 clinic sites, over 400 employees and continue to provide high quality services to patients of all ages.
DESCRIPTION: This position provides reception and administrative support in a community-based nonprofit legal aid organization serving a diverse community. This position reports to the Watsonville Law Center Legal Director, but will be an employee of Salud. The ideal candidate has a passion for serving the community, experience in a professional office or law office, and a desire to work as a part of a highly productive professional team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties related to reception include:

  • Welcoming individuals seeking services; identifying service needs and screening individuals for eligibility; and providing information and referrals as instructed.
  • Communicating with clients, partners, and others, including telephone, voicemail, email, and mail communications.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with Watsonville Law Center (WLC) office procedures, including entering data in an electronic case management system.
  • Coordinating office calendars, scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • Providing excellent English and Spanish-language customer services to a diverse community of clients and service partners.

Duties related to WLC administration include:

  • Providing administrative support such as copying, writing correspondence, scheduling, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, data entry and drafting reports.
  • Assisting with general business operations including assisting with invoicing, purchasing, and communicating with vendors.
  • Keeping office organized; keeping office supplies and informational materials stocked.
  • Working as a team with other staff and volunteers to ensure compliance with office processes and ensure high quality work product.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two years of administrative education
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish, including basic business writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience working with low-income, multi-cultural, immigrant communities.
  • A minimum of one year customer service experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and ability to monitor accuracy and quality of work.
  • Experience using word-processing, spreadsheets, email, and calendaring and other office software. Experience with databases or electronic case management system is preferred.
  • Typing is required, preferred 40 wpm or better.
  • Valid CA driver license.
  • Ability to travel to various locations in Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing, walking, sitting, typing, reaching, bending, moving and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Pay range: $18.45 - $21.36/hr
