Christiana Care in Newark Delaware, DE is looking for a full time Administrative Assistant I to provide clerical/secretarial support to assigned work group, performing basic secretarial duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, telephone assistance, mail, supplies and calendars.

The ideal candidate will be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multitask. Candidate to complete tasks and duties within a prescribed timeline.

The responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant I will include;

Performs secretarial functions which contribute to the efficient operation of the department, including typing, filing, photocopying, telephone assistance, mail, supplies and calendars

May schedule and confirm appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.

May prepare correspondence, memoranda, e-mail and reports; may compose routine correspondence and memoranda

Performs administrative duties such as assisting in the preparation of reports, monitoring expenses, tracking information using a PC and special projects requiring research and judgment.

Operates department computer system and other equipment in an accurate and safe manner.

Optimally communicates between all levels within the nursing department and other departments, applying both written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrates sound knowledge base of the clerical functions specific to the department.

Attends staff meetings and required in-services.

Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

Office Hours: Day Shift

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two year's administrative support experience
