About the Department
The Section of Pediatric Rheumatology and Allergy/Immunology provides care for patients and families with acute and chronic medical conditions, or other rheumatologic/Allergy related diseases, requiring the specialty knowledge and skills of Rheumatology/Allergy Immunology.
Job Summary
The position will provide daily administrative support for the Section Chief, Faculty and Section Administrator. Provide general administrative support to the Fellowship & Associate Director as it relates to day-to-day operation of the fellowship training program and other educational programs in the section. Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing daily operations of Section Chief’s research portfolio.
Responsibilities are diverse and general in nature and may reflect more than one functional area.
This position will be eligible for an alternative work arrangement.
Responsibilities

Provides confidential and high-level administrative support for a leader. Stays informed of activities relating to University programs and initiatives, apprising the leader of issues when deemed necessary. Coordinates information flow from leader's office to University. Relieves leaders of administrative responsibilities.

Initiates correspondence and other written materials under own signature or for signature of the leader. Triages emails and telephone calls for action. Resolves routine and complex inquiries. May act as liaison to Allergy FACET program .

Prepare special reports and summaries, assists in managing daily operation of the office, and may assist in developing administrative goals and policies. Maintains the leader's calendar, exercising considerable discretion and judgment as to priorities and effective use of the leader's time.

Coordinates special projects as directed by the leader. Prepares write ups for recommendations for operational and administrative problems. May manage a portion of the leader's budget, monitoring and reconciling accounts. Prepares financial and/or administrative reports.

Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:

Previous experience in progressively responsible administrative support roles.
Preferred Competencies

Experience leading at least one sizable, complex project, preferably serving multiple and/or competing constituencies.

Knowledge of project management concepts and best practices. These include at a minimum resources allocation, budget and schedule management, and reporting conventions to project leadership.
