Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Reports To: CFO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Clerk will manage the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will complete payment processing and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. The individual will also process work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances as well as maintain the accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to Day Management of assigned financial activities.
  • Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing pay checks for reimbursement.
  • Pay vendors by scheduling pay checks and enduring payment is received for outstanding credit.
  • Responds to all vendor inquiries regarding payments.
  • Prepare and submit analyses of accounts through monthly reports.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Prepare bills and invoices for payment.
  • Assist with 1099 compliance requirements.
  • Research and respond to vendor and internal inquires.
  • Other duties as assigned or as become evident.

  • Ability to use internet browser software to include Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software to include Word and Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit a normal seating position for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend a considerable amount of time using their hands to write, handle, control, or feel objects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience. Associates Degree in accounting preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.89 - $17.11 per hour
