Looking to apply your accounting experience to a purpose-driven, operationally focused, and growing finance team making a positive impact in the world? The Accounting Manager takes a hands-on approach in leading the daily operations of the Accounting team, monitoring and analyzing accounting data, and producing financial reports and statements. Thriving in a remote, fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Accounting Manager oversees the successful creation of and compliance with proper accounting methods, policies and principles while leading a team and playing an instrumental part in bringing clean, affordable, and modern energy to the world

Helps Soligent make a positive impact by:

  • Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
  • Helping with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
  • Assessing current practices and procedures and making recommendations for improvement
  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Supervising and/or managing general ledger accounting functions
  • Developing staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Protecting the organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Accomplishing the accounting and organization's mission
  • Overseeing preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Overseeing the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
  • Supporting with all other duties as assigned by manager

Location: Remote

Required Skills/Proficiencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in Distribution with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
  • Experience with month and year end period close, developing budgets and tracking budget expenses, US GAAP, and accounting
  • Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation
  • Ability to manage processes and report research results
  • Ability to manage, coordinate and motivate a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with other financial systems, NetSuite experience preferred
  • Attention to detail

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Colorado is expected to be between $80,000 - $100,000 and for a candidate in NYC is expected to be between $80,000 - $100,000, but may be higher or lower in other States due to geographic differentials in the labor market.
