Youth Care Specialist Job at Mohican Young Star Academy
Youth Care Specialist - $1500 sign-in bonus: $500 after 3 months of employment, $500 - after 6 months, and another $500 - on a 1-year anniversary. Must have no call-offs or missed shifts to qualify.
Mohican Young Star Academy is a residential treatment facility in the middle of Mohican State Park. We work with troubled boys who need 24/7 support and supervision.
Our starting rate is $18.50, which goes up to $19 after probationary period. Depending on experience, you can make as much as $23/hr. And let's not forget our year-end bonus that starts at $1000 and goes up based on your tenure (may be prorated if you start mid-year).
- Your job is to enforce structure and maintain safety on campus while providing a positive role model for youth to emulate.
- You may be requested to participate in recreation (hiking, canoeing) and coach athletics (basketball, flag football, softball etc.)
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have HS diploma or GED, pass a criminal background check, medical exam, drug screening, and have a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must have reliable transportation and should consider the commute to the Mohican Park.
Youth Care Specialist works a 2-2-3 schedule (12-hour shifts/guaranteed overtime).
- Day Shift:
WEEK 1: Mon/Tues—Work 9am-9pm, Wed/Thurs—off, Fri/Sat/Sun—work 9am-9pm.
WEEK 2: Mon/Tues—off, Wed/Thurs—9am-9pm, Fri/Sat/Sun—off.
WEEK 3: Repeat.
- Night Shift:
WEEK 1: Mon/Tues—Work 9pm-9am, Wed/Thurs—off, Fri/Sat/Sun—work 9pm-9am.
WEEK 2: Mon/Tues—off, Wed/Thurs—9pm-9am, Fri/Sat/Sun—off.
WEEK 3: Repeat.
