We’re looking for a full-time, staff X-Ray Supervisor to join our American Ordnance team located in Middletown, IA.

As the X-Ray Supervisor, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Supervises X-ray staff, plans work schedules, oversees X-ray system operations per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Makes decisions regarding product acceptance.
  • Monitors radiographer staff performance, documents records, ensures reader accuracy is maintained at a very high level.
  • Coordinates activities with production, quality and production engineering assuring that overall plant policies are observed
  • Perform semi-annual Radiographer audits and document results. Scheduling and coordinating NDT equipment calibration and maintenance.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Ability to schedule work. Ability to write business correspondence and reports. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, present information and respond to questions from direct reports, managers, and customers.
  • Ability to use 8 Step problem solving method solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited knowledge exists. Ability to interpret and apply a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to assess and develop talent and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Conduct Radiography for the acceptance of parts and document results.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, physics or engineering preferred.
  • 5 years as a certified Level II or Level III Radiographer.
  • Must have Level 3 Radiographer certification per NAS 410
  • IDPH Industrial Radiographer certificate/card. Valid driver's license is required
  • Working knowledge of X-ray image acquisition and interpretation software.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.

  • Ability to read complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to write complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to express thoughts orally.
  • Expertise in:
  • Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment.
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company’s office or worksite.
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
