Women's Shelter Part-Time Caseworker Job at Preble Street
Preble Street has a Part-Time 2nd shift Caseworker position available at Florence House Shelter and Residential Program. Florence House provides services to Housing First Studio apartments and a 40-bed emergency shelter 24/7, 365 days a year. This position will work as a member of a team of caseworkers supporting tenants through addressing their barriers to housing.
- Schedules Available:
o Sunday and Monday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm (16 hrs)
o Saturday-Monday, 4:00pm to 10:30pm (18 hrs)
- This position reports directly to Florence House 2nd Shift Supervisor
- The primary role of this position is to build relationships with clients, provide casework services, provide program coverage, maintain client safety, monitor the security of the building, provide crisis intervention, and support, and assist clients in overcoming barriers to stable housing.
- In addition, the caseworkers are responsible for supporting program documentation needs, participating in programming, and coordinating services and support.
Employees working in direct service roles in coverage programs are paid an additional $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked in such programs between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm
Requirements
- Candidates for this position must have a positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty.
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with community services
- An understanding of low-barrier service challenges
- The ability to establish boundaries and set limits with a diverse population • Able to work as part of a team.
- MHRT-1 certification eligibility is required and can be obtained while on the job.
