Job Description:
Provide a warm welcome to patients, families, and visitors. Greet visitors, support wayfinding, escort families to destinations, make deliveries to patient rooms, visit new patient families to provide a welcome check in, and other duties as assigned.Greeter Guide Volunteer
Service Summary: Provide a warm welcome to patients, families, and visitors. Greet visitors, support wayfinding, escort families to destinations, make deliveries to patient rooms, visit new patient families to provide a welcome check in, and other duties as assigned.
Time Commitment:
One 3-hour shift per week for a minimum of 6 months.
Available Shifts:
- Mon 12-3pm
- Tues 9a-12pm, 10a-1pm
- Thurs 10a-1pm, 12-3pm
Qualifications:
- Friendly, mature, and able to interact in a positive and welcoming manner
- Approachable and willing to assist families
- Able to work with others, sensitive to privacy in a hospital setting.
- Self-motivated and honest
- Comfortable initiating conversations and taking charge of directions.
- Experience with leading, directing, or otherwise organizing groups.
- Strong communication skills.
Service Duties:
- Greet all families, staff, & visitors with eye contact and a pleasant voice.
- Escort patients and families to appointments after screening.
- Help maintain a tidy, clean appearance at the lobby desk.
- Escort patients and families to Eccles outpatient building as needed.
- Obtain clean equipment, such as wheelchairs and wagons. Assist with wagon/wheelchair cleaning and prep.
- Deliver gift shop orders to patient rooms.
- Approach families who appear confused or lost, offer to help, and direct them to their destination.
- Visit assigned new patient rooms to greet and welcome family and offer information on hospital resources.

- Confidence to ask for assistance when needed
- Confidence to approach visitors and offer assistance.
