Position Summary
This Internet Crimes Against Children Victim Services Specialist (ICAC VSS) provides crisis intervention and response services to child victims of technology-facilitated crimes and their families throughout Wisconsin. The position works closely with DOJ's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Special Agents, ICAC Program Staff, and ICAC Affiliate Agencies throughout the state to enhance existing services and provide crime victims support, resources and referrals as soon as possible following awareness of the incident. This position will make available resources and support for individuals and their families who have suffered technology facilitated crime impacts, including assistance with removal of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online. This position will also assist with safety awareness and outreach to make Wisconsin residents aware of resources and support.
Salary Information
The Victim Services Specialist position is in pay schedule 12 and pay range 64. The starting pay will be between $27 - $31.42/hr. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Job Details
Travel Requirements: Occasional in-state travel will be required. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel.
The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.

Qualifications

- Working with crime victims and their families in a professional setting.
- Providing education to promote healthy conversations and discuss online safety.
- Critical incident stress debriefing and trauma-focused interventions.
- Intepreting laws, policies, and protocols related to child sexual abuse imagery and online exploitation.
- Experience working collaboratively with law enforcement and other service providers.
- Victimization crisis responses and the impact of trauma.
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competency principles.
- Working with individuals who have experienced trauma related to crime victimization, particularly Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC).
