PURPOSE

Reporting to the President, Preferred Concrete, the VP/GM is responsible for strategically leading all aspects of the West Region Ready-Mix operations (not limited to, safety, finance, sales, and equipment). The VP/GM works with four additional VP/GM’s from other regions to ensure effective application of the company’s performance & growth strategies.


Travel will be required between the multiple locations within the region.


MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engaging and inspiring employees towards the establishment and maintenance of a positive safety culture
  • Actively demonstrating leadership competencies to contribute to a high-performance work environment
  • Supervise and provide oversight to the West Region Ready-Mix daily operations
  • Provide leadership and direction in sales & marketing efforts resulting in maximum product sales, meeting or exceeding customer expectations and driving maximum profitability
  • Manage all aspects of the business to deliver safety, performance and budget goals
  • Work with Company President to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies
  • Manage Capex projects within the West Region
  • Build effective teams while supporting talent management and succession planning initiatives for the West Region
  • Participate in the annual Strategic Planning Process
  • Further the Company’s goals and enhance its image by participating in external forums such as industry associations, public organizations and general public associations
  • Monitor market activity and competitor position to establish product demand and pricing trend analysis to achieve business plan results
  • Ensure appropriate steps are taken to correct off-plan performance by reviewing and analysing operating results versus established objectives
  • Be visible in the sites, coaching, teaching, and mentoring leaders
  • Meet corporate objectives and individual career aspirations by promoting developmental activities and training of managers
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safely drive a vehicle


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's/University Degree
  • Preferred field of study: Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related filed and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Work Experience: 10-15 years
  • Travel Requirements: Various locations across Florida. Should expect a certain amount of out-of-state travel


Additional Requirements:

  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License
  • Computer Skills: Technologically savvy, with a full understanding and fluency in computer applications including word processing, email, internet searches, database and presentation software (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Pro)
  • Required Personal Protective Equipment: Will be supplied as required
  • Other: Successful Experience leading teams in the construction, materials, and/or manufacturing industry
