VIAS PR - Leadership Developer Job at AmeriCorps
UAGM is a non-profit institution of higher education whose principal mission is to promote the cultural, social and economic development and well-being of the PR society, as well as of other Hispanic communities outside of Puerto Rico, by offering educational opportunities for the benefit of the communities which it serves. UAGM Gurabo Campus through its Integral Development Unit, will serve as lead organization of the AmeriCorps VISTA Project: VIAS PR. With the purpose of strengthening and supplementing efforts to eliminate and alleviate poverty, the VISTA project will seek to was to design and implement an outreach model program that enhances new labor market skills in participants through the development of a leadership program that provides the opportunity to advance in their academic careers and find employment. The VIAS PR sites and VISTA members will be located in Gurabo Campus, Cupey Campus and Bayamon location.
Member Duties : Leadership Developer 1Opportunity - UAGM Gurabo Campus Develop an annual plan to achieve programmatic objectives; identify volunteers who serve as resources in the program; coordinate educational activities that enhance soft skills, orient students on documents and processes to create and develop organizations and groups that enrich the university experience; create trainings and train leaders in order to sustain the project; create data bases, educational and promotional material; coordinate meetings and create and implement service processes.
