Mohave Community College is seeking an innovative, collaborative and dedicated individual who will guide veteran students to reach their goals. Providing a wide variety of assistance and information to students helping guide the way towards success.
Individuals in this exempt position are expected to generally be available during the normal business hours of the college, and will occasionally be asked to work non-traditional hours, including holidays and weekends, as needed.

Typical Duties
1. Create email marketing campaigns designed to target Mohave County veterans and active duty members.
2. Identify veterans returning home from active duty.
3. Community outreach to spouses of active duty military members.
4. Supply an on-going pipeline of quality photos, testimonials and features relative to the veterans service office.
5. Manage social networking/blog sites for the college's veterans services office.
6. Investigate sources of state and federal funds and work with the appropriate college staff to write grant proposals for veterans services.
7. Provide ongoing training to the career planning counselors on any changes or updates to VA regulations.
8. Coordinate with the dean of instruction and human resources to provide professional development for faculty and staff on dealing with issues facing veterans.
9. Work with disability services to ensure that veterans needs are being met or that they are being placed in contact with appropriate help and work with local disabled veterans office to provide education, training and available college resources to disabled veterans.
10. Remain current on all state and federal regulations pursuant to VA education benefits. Answer walk-in, phone, and email inquiries on VA education benefits
11. Establish and maintain the VA work-study program. Establish veterans clubs on campus.
12. Review and certify enrollment to the department of veteran affairs for veteran students and dependant eligible students who have requested the use of VA education benefits. Monitor certified schedules to ensure all required changes are reported to the VA within defined timeline.
13. Timely submission of the college catalog, student handbook, and addendum to the Veterans Education & Training Approving Agency (VETAA) for approval of the college's programs and courses for VA education benefits
14. Securely maintain veteran files for review during VETAA and VA annual and bi-annual audits. Maintain and create any and all VA forms for the college.
15. Periodic travel between campuses to meet with veterans.
16. Adhere to college, federal and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
17. Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; three years related work experience; and strong interpersonal/ communication skills or any combination of experience, training and/or education which demonstrates potential for success in performing the essential functions of the position.
Preference given for prior military service with Honorable Discharge.
