Organization Overview
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP), our business is changing lives. We are a vibrant, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization that is committed to partnering with schools and the community to ensure students from low-income neighborhoods graduate from high school, ready for college and career. We are the largest expanded learning time organization in the heart of Silicon Valley, serving 2,500 K-12 students at 17 sites in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City. In neighborhoods where one third of the youth drop out of high school, BGCP members learn the importance of education and become part of a community of learners, wanting and expecting to succeed in school. In 3 clubhouses and 14 school sites, we implement proven social and academic interventions and provide engaging enrichments that most impact a youth’s achievement in school and in life.

We are also excited to announce that we are joining forces with the two Boys & Girls Club chapters in the northern part of San Mateo County to serve students from East Palo Alto to Daly City. We are rapidly growing and seeking top talent to help us fulfill our commitment to our community.

Position Overview:

The Van Driver is responsible for transporting our student members from their schools to our after-school program locations every Monday - Friday in the South San Francisco and Daly City areas. Occasionally, the Van Driver may be asked to transport students in San Mateo, Daly City, Redwood City, Menlo Park, and East Palo Alto.

Employment Status: Part-Time, Hourly
Hours: 1:00pm - 3:30pm (M/Tu/Th/F) and 12:00pm - 2:30pm (W)
Compensation: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour

Signing Bonus! $1,000.00
Location: South San Francisco, CA

What will you do?

• Provide transportation for BGCP students
• Maintain vehicle logs.
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vans.
• Manage and uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up.
• Have familiarity with roads and be responsible for knowing travel routes and destinations.
• Be responsible in case of emergency van repairs to managing details of roadside assistance and/or towing.

What qualifications will the ideal candidate have?

• At least 21 years old
• Current and valid California Drivers' license (standard class C-no special license required) for a minimum of 5 years
• Proof of personal auto insurance
• Previous experience with driving K-8 students a plus
• Familiarity with mechanical operations of automobiles a plus

Onboarding Process - All requirements under the onboarding process will be covered by BGCP
