What you will do:

• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitor for undesired, irregular, unusual, or criminal activity
• Secure facility and designated areas
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents
• Remain alert and aware of surroundings
• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent and report safety hazards, theft, violence or infractions of the customer's rules and policies
• Monitor entrace and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against compromises to security and the safety of the premises
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to observe activities, and to report/deter suspicious and undesired activity
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates
• Provide escort services for occupants of client property as requested
• Perform client specific tasks
• Protect property and persons on the property
• Observe, report, and prevent undesired activity by providing a physical presence
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
• Monitor points of access in buildings to allow entry only to individuals with the proper authorization
• Monitor cameras periodically to screen for undesired or suspicious activity

Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of reliability and punctuality
• Must have a positive attitude
• Must uphold ethical behavior
• High School diploma or GED
• Be eligible for Security License in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• May not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude (lying, stealing, cheating); assualt and battery; damage to real or personal property; controlled substances (drugs) or imitation controlled substances; prohibited sexual behavior; or firearms offenses or any felony
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must undergo a drug screening
• Must be a US Citizen or meet Federal eligibility requirements to work in the United States
• Able to walk and stand for the majority of shifts up to 12 hours in duration
• Able to speak fluent English
• Demonstrated basic computer and smartphone skills
• Ability to effectively compose written communications (reports, logs, email, etc.)
