Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.
Background on the Position
Wealth Management (WM) provides a comprehensive array of financial services and solutions to individual investors and small to medium-sized businesses and institutions covering brokerage and investment advisory services; financial and wealth planning services; stock plan administration services; annuity and insurance products; securities-based lending, residential real estate loans and other lending products; banking; and retirement plan services.
This Executive Director role is part of the U.S. Banks Enterprise Risk and Governance function, and the incumbent will play a leadership role across the U.S. Banks. The objective of this role is to drive execution of the U.S. Banks Risk Governance Framework across the 1LOD and 2LOD. The role will require significant stakeholder engagement across Firm Risk Management, Wealth Management, and ISG as well as with other stakeholders that support the U.S. Banks.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the continuous improvement and enhancement of the U.S. Banks Risk Governance Framework
- Oversee and coordinate Concentration Risk and Risk Assessment processes
- Review and challenge Bank-wide Risk Identification processes
- Review and challenge 1LOD implementation of Risk Governance Framework standards
- Execute on 2LOD Strategic Risk responsibilities
- Communicate Risk Governance Framework standards across the U.S. Banks
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in Finance, Economics, Law or similar
- 15+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry (Regulatory, Risk or Internal Audit background)
- Enterprise Risk Management experience with good knowledge in a broad range of risk management disciplines including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks
- Strong understanding of OCC Heightened Standards and banking regulation
- Experience working at a banking regulatory agency, such as the Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, SEC, FINRA, and CFTC
- Excellent influencing, negotiating, and collaborating skills. Ability to build strong internal and external networks
- Exceptional oral/written communications skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts and translate into effective presentations to Senior Management
- Superior problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
- Project management experience with strong organizational skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 160000 and 250000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
