Responsibilities
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Trainee will be responsible for successfully completing a CNA training program with a Wellstar academic partner or through a Wellstar training program.
The CNA Trainee will receive training through classroom (virtual and/or in person) and clinical sessions that will develop skills in communication, interpersonal skills, infection control, safety, promoting independence, resident and/or patient rights, taking and recording vital signs, caring for resident’s and/or patient’s environment, recognizing and reporting abnormal changes in the body functions, personal care skills, mental health and social needs, and restorative nursing skills.
Upon successful completion of this program, the CNA Trainee will be prepared to successfully pass the Georgia State Board of Nursing Certification Exam.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education:
- Rising High School Senior (completion of junior year) or senior classification in with satisfactory standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
Preferred Education:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma/Development (GED). Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program preferred.
Required Minimum Experience:
- No previous experience required
Required Minimum
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Required Minimum Certification:
- Ability to follow detailed directions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Clear verbal and written communication, specifically ability to document
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Wellstar minimum age of hire is 16.
