Tow Truck Driver Job at Pray 4 Tow Inc.
The duties of a tow truck operator consist of interacting with customers, being able to communicate well with a dispatcher, driving to the scene of an accident or breakdown, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck, and transporting it back to the service station or junkyard. The driver will be responsible for attaching the disabled vehicle to the tow truck. Depending on the type of tow truck, this may include using a chain, winch, steering locks, and other devices as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.
Truck Driver responsibilities and duties
Securing the vehicle to the tow truck
May include; using a chain, winch, steering locks, dollies, straps, etc.
Transporting a vehicle to the secure storage facility
Photographing the vehicle while on the hook
Completing paperwork/ daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at EOD
Completing pre and post-trip inspections compliant with DOT regulations
Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way
Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
Serve as a brand advocate in every interaction with clients and the public
Truck Driver qualifications and skills
High school diploma/GED required
Commercial driver’s license in good standing
No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years
No DWI/DUI in the last 7 years
2+ years’ commercial driving experience required
Clean background
Very independent position- light supervision
A stress-free and fun work environment
