SUMMARY: Support schools and promote effective instructional practices in STEM content area as well as partnerships through Jefferson County and beyond.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Partner with schools to support the development of STEM pathways and curricular practices to enhance teacher instruction that will ultimately increase student achievement and post-secondary workforce readiness.
- Communicate and work collaboratively as a part of a team (CTE, Concurrent Enrollment, and other Choice Programs).
- Work collaboratively with other content area curriculum specialists in Curriculum and Instruction and with other central departments including Diverse Learners, School and Student Services, Instructional Data Services, Educational Technology Services to provide professional learning throughout the district on STEM related issues including PBL.
- Work with STEM stakeholder groups (Colorado Community College System, Colorado Department of Education, Colorado Education Initiative, Colorado Workforce Development Council, Jeffco Economic Development Cooperation and others) to connect Jeffco students to the Colorado Talent Pipeline in the STEM fields.
- Connect and recruit local business and industry partners to support STEM programs in Jeffco
- Connect with post-secondary partners to support STEM programs in Jeffco
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in specific content area as indicated. Masters degree preferred. Valid Colorado teaching license. Most recent Performance Evaluation meeting or exceeding standards in all performance areas and overall performance. CTE Credential in STEM preferred.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years successful teaching experience in the content area. Previous successful experience working with adult learners. Experience using a variety of assessment tools including best practices in the areas of classroom instruction, differentiation, assessments, and interventions. Demonstrated understanding of a PK-12 perspective for designated subject area. Experience effectively facilitating teacher professional development.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and to meet deadlines.
Willingness to implement national, state, and District initiatives.
Knowledge of current research and issues in the area of curriculum and instruction.
Knowledge of and experience with District’s commitment to a guaranteed and viable curriculum including current work of the content team.
Knowledge and ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs of the Department for Teaching and Learning, including the willingness to work a flexible scheduled work year.
Demonstrated ability to consult with a variety of groups and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly on a collaborative team.
Experience in working with adult learners.
Demonstrated expertise in specific content area and best practices for all students ranging in abilities from special needs to accelerated learners.
Demonstrated understanding of a multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) process including the use of a variety of assessments and core, strategic and intensive strategies.
Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of professional development including organizing and facilitating sessions. Knowledge and comfort with technology applications that support District curriculum.

Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
