Schwend Logistics, one of the Region’s leading dry bulk carrier is currently seeking a Terminal Manager for our Tampa FL terminal .

We are looking for an out of the box, forward thinking, energetic individual to oversee 35+ drivers and 2-3 dispatchers.

The Terminal Manager is of course the direct supervisor of the other dispatchers in the office, the Terminal Manager must be able to manage not only their own work, but also be aware of what each of the dispatchers in the office is working on. Employee relations/issue resolution will also fall under the Terminal Manager duties.

The person in this position will be responsible for managing the dispatch functions of our fleet to ensure that it is as efficient and effective as possible.

Terminal Manager will be responsible for controlling/managing cost per mile on all drivers' routes, increasing revenue per mile, cutting wasteful spending, and increasing drivers pay on all routes.

It is imperative that the Terminal Manager be aware of what driver's weekly pay checks are so that problem routes/lanes can be adjusted. Terminal Manger will schedule time off for drivers and dispatchers, as well as schedule maintenance for equipment.

The person in this role will be charged with ensuring equipment compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The successful candidate must have the ability to multitask and appropriately prioritize tasks. The person in this position needs to be aggressive, competitive, and have a career-oriented mindset.

Previous Dispatch experience required. Previous management experience required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Effective listening skills necessary to elicit options and ideas in support of team relationship
• Assists in routing and coordinating of workload
• Generate written reports and progressive disciplinary write ups
• Assists in new hire selection, training, and evaluations
• Assists with upkeep of fleet and Fleet Maintenance Program
• Must be able to keep a cool head and foster positive driver/dispatch relations
• Must be up to date on industry standards and relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Must also make sure these standards and regulations are being met, as well as promote and encourage safety.
