How can you make an Impact?
As Technical Product Manager for K12 Intervention, you will partner with engineers, UX designers, business stakeholders, academic designers, researchers, and customers, developing tools to create rich, dynamic, and adaptive learning experiences for students. You will operate in an environment that requires excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional team collaboration, facilitation, prioritization, and communication skills. You will individually focus on applying creative and analytical approaches to any challenge, leveraging both your team’s input and that of the user.
What you will do?
- Collaborate with other Technical Product Managers and stakeholders across the company to uncover, analyze and propose potential solutions for the key problems to be solved.
- Work directly with designers, engineers, researchers, and customers to ensure we are building the right solution at all stages.
- Define and communicate a clear vision for the Agile team’s work, and value milestones.
- Drive delivery of your project by ensuring the team works toward commitments to completion on time and quality, implementing risk mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Champion Agile methodologies throughout the development process. Ensure appropriate scum ceremonies occur with valuable outcomes. Drive continuous team improvement.
- Maintain a groomed backlog and prioritize stories for development, effectively managing scope and trade-offs.
- Facilitate the design process, initiate, and participate in user research efforts, synthesize user feedback into a prioritized backlog.
- Partner with Engineering Leads to promote and support the Agile health of your team; ensure cross team dependencies are identified and managed; and ensure timely, high quality software releases.
- Triage incoming software defects and queries from internal and external customers, following up to ensure defect resolutions meet SLA.
- Own and manage a communication plan with stakeholders, emphasizing transparency and buy in on key decisions.
- Showcase, document and provide training support for the software your team builds.
- Understand the marketing and implementation plans for getting your product successfully in the hands of customers.
What can you bring to the role?
- 3-5 years of Technical Product Management or equivalent experience
- Experience leading Agile- based, software product development teams solving complex challenges
- Capable of writing requirements for API-based solutions; enjoy collaborating closely with engineering.
- Success coordinating, collaborating and negotiating across teams of software developers, quality engineers, designers, and customer-facing teams
- A track record of shipping intuitive, user-centered products at scale
- Ability to handle complexity, process new information quickly, and manage dynamic projects with competing resources and priorities
- You are a self-starter who works proactively to understand and address the challenges/opportunities ahead of you and your team
- Strong communication skills. You are comfortable presenting information tailored to varied audiences. Effective at translating technical ideas to non-technical professionals and vice versa
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, conflict management, organization, and critical thinking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with digital content development or authoring tools strongly desired
- Passion for, or experience in, educational technology or K-12 education.
- Enterprise/Platform Software experience
- Scrum master experience
