Job Description
This position is for the 2023-2024 school year. The start date is August 22, 2023.
This position will have a work space at a West Linn-Wilsonville school site. There may
be an opportunity to create a hybrid work schedule between on and off site work with
collaboration and agreements with Administrator.
Please note: To comply with Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order, all staff, substitutes and volunteers in K-12 schools will be required to be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021. Upon hire we will need to collect a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card or evidence of a qualifying medical or religious exception from the mandate.
Position Description :
Responsibilities include:
- Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students; Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior; Implementing state and district curriculum; Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
- Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction; Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
- Developing partnerships that enhance student learning; Modeling and teaching a growth mindset;
- Providing culturally responsive instruction;
- Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.
- Able to effectively use technology and online learning platforms to support student learning.
- Able to collaborate effectively with district and school administrators, counselors, teachers, students, and parent/guardians to develop and implement programs and practices.
- Work alongside WKOA Coordinators, Teacher Librarians, related service providers and WKOA subject area teachers to increase students’ academic achievement and engagement in school
- Foster strong personal relationships with students
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching;
- Masters degree preferred;
- Oregon teaching license in assigned area and proper endorsement;
- Experience teaching students online, utilizing the web based digital curriculum platform;
- Experience with technology to enhance student learning opportunities.
- Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility.
- Ability to navigate and problem solve technology issues that arise.
