The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking talented and creative individuals to join our team of passionate professionals! We are excited to launch a new Homeschool Enrichment Program and have various positions available.

The YMCA of Central Texas operates summer camps and enrichment programs that provide high energy, high adventure activities creating memories that last a lifetime.

We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout Williamson & Burnet Counties. Our organization is home to the largest school age child care provider in Williamson County as well as health and fitness programs that improve the quality of life for over 45,000 members ranging from preschool through senior citizen.

Teachers – Works with Lead Teachers to teach enrichment curriculum to Homeschool age children; supervises, leads group programming; promotes learning environment.

• Be responsible for the supervision, safety and well-being of the program participants.
• Carry out the daily lesson plans leading the classroom, following the guidelines agreed upon by the teacher and lead teacher.
• Communicate with the Lead Teacher concerning student’s needs and evaluate their progress.
• Actively participate in the activities.
• Take daily attendance of students/participants.
• Uphold facility maintenance and cleanliness standards.
• Work with assistant teachers and volunteers; clearly communicate needs, to utilize in program.
• Ensure proper set-up and break down of assigned rooms on a daily basis and maintain a neat and clean appearance of room including equipment and supplies.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

• At least two years’ experience in related area or equivalent teaching education
• Must be able to communicate well with students, parents and volunteers, be a team player, and have good leadership skills.
• Prior experience in teaching or equivalent university preparation.
• General knowledge of YMCA programs, philosophies and objectives.
• Ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner.
• Must be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.
• Must be able to relate well with students and promote an environment conducive to learning.
• CPR/First Aid Certification within thirty days of employment.
• Ability to work in and resolve conflict situations.

Hours: Monday’s 9am-2pm - Round Rock, Wednesday’s 9am-2pm- Round Rock, Tuesday’s 9am-2pm- Cedar Park

Hourly rate: $13-$19.00 - DOE
