In order to continue our record growth streak, we need people like YOU to join our team! Are you up for the opportunity of a lifetime? If so, we are seeking a Tax Analyst to join our Finance team. This position will play a key role in enhancing the company’s sales tax infrastructure and assist current department personnel in all areas of tax. Interested candidates should possess a strong process orientation and attention to detail along with a drive to streamline processes and enhance the quality of tax outputs. This position will provide exposure to many areas of taxation as well as to various facets of the business.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with third party to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns.
  • Assist in preparing taxable income calculations for partnership and corporate entities.
  • Prepare state apportionment workpapers.
  • Prepare transfer pricing calculations.
  • Manage customer exemption process ensuring the proper exemption documentation is retained in order to mitigate sales tax exposure on audit.
  • Record month end tax entries and ensure tax account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with questions regarding tax.
  • Complete gross receipts and business tax returns and maintain tax filing calendar.
  • Timely respond to notices and correspondence received from taxing authorities.
  • Assist in completing income, personal property and sales and use tax audits.
  • Carry out campaigns to update exemption certificates in new nexus jurisdictions or if certificates expire.
  • Proactively seek ways to automate and streamline tasks.
  • Fulfill employee portion of the “Berlin Values”.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of increasingly analytical experience. Public accounting experience a plus, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of various areas of tax.
  • Detail and project oriented with a proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong drive to enhance processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability and desire to interface cross-functionally and with outside service providers.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Working Environment:

  • Hybrid schedule at Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL
