• Must have at least a Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
• Must have at least 12 months of experience in the advertised position or Industrial Automation Engineer or in a related role.
• Must have completed graduate level coursework in Modeling and Simulation, Quality Assurance for Engineers, and Enterprise Systems Engineering.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus. Must have strong communication skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• The engineer should be able to grasp their individual project scope, budget and schedule (project execution).
• Work individually and with other engineers as needed to complete these tasks.
• Regular interaction with the PM/TM is expected to evaluate task progress and direction.
• Individuals should work toward improving their skills and moving to the next advancement level.
• An individual should be proficient in several of the following primary tasks:
  • Programming of Logic Controllers:
    • Individuals should have a good working knowledge of one of two PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Modicon, GE, etc.
    • Some training may be needed and provided to expand an employee's skill set.
  • Control System Design:
    • Individual should have a good working knowledge of electrical principals and be able to develop electrical drawings for PLC based systems.
    • Instrumentation: Should have and work towards having an understanding of instrumentation and how it should be applied in process applications, configurations and signals.
  • Programming of HMI/SCADA systems:
    • Individual should have a good working knowledge of one or two systems, such as Complicity, iFIX, Wonderware, etc.
    • Some training may be needed and provided to expand an employee's skill set.
  • Database Principles:
    • Individual should work towards developing the ability to set up historical/Database packages and develop trends.
  • Other activities include: custom coding, recipes management, scheduling, and other advanced SCADA related tasks.
• Individual should work towards developing a good working knowledge of network design, protocols and component selection.
• Individual should be able to operate at a customer site to mange or execute a project startup and commission.
• Professional presentation at all times especially with clients.
• Participates actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite.
• Adheres to policies an standards set forth in the Firm's Quality Management System.
• Understand the CSI scope and interact with team members to make improvements in the CSI project design.
• Identify Scope, Budget, or schedule issues before they become an issue and work with PM/TM to resolve.
• Have periodic project reviews with Project Manager/Task Manager to assure the project is on track and in scope.
