Inside the Role
Gain hands on industry experience in the development of innovative propulsion technology solutions for Daimler Trucks North America, including internal combustion, electric mobility and autonomous driving. Opportunity will apply engineering principles to develop and validate complex powertrain components and systems that sets the industry benchmark for performance, efficiency, cost, reliability, and safety.

,Position offers a starting salary range of $74,500- $95,000
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What you drive at DTNA
- Develop, validate, and release both mechanical & mechatronic components and software requirements for conventional and alternative Powertrain thermal systems.
- Generate ideas to reduce product cost and improve quality.
- Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations of technical results to the management team.
- Utilize structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause for Powertrain system issues and integrate corrective actions into new & existing designs.
- Schedule work including issuing work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems in order to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations and review with management.
- Create project plans and timelines and assist management with defining budget requirements.
- Promptly resolve plant build issues and field problems.
- Lead cross-functional activities with regional and Global counterparts in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Suppliers.
- Communicate effectively and maintain professional/social interaction in a multi-cultural and international environment.
- Improve knowledge and skills through training; actively identify areas of potential self-improvement and alert management of opportunities for training.
- Maintain daily record of work hours by project.
- Other activities as necessary and/or assigned.
Knowledge you should bring
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited University). Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and inform management of any barriers. Strong oral and written communication skills. High level of analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with and get work done effectively through others.
- Strong PC skills including MS Office and database tools.
Exceptional Candidates might have
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering (ABET Accredited University).
- General knowledge of internal combustion or electric mobility Powertrain systems
- Previous engine service or parts technical experience.
- Understand and speak German language.
