Position Summary:
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the implementation and maintenance of helpdesk software, tools, and technologies to improve service delivery and efficiency. They will ensure that end-users receive timely and effective technical support, and that the helpdesk team is operating efficiently and effectively. The Systems Administrator will provide technical support for assigned district-wide software, maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets, and provide site level technology support. They will act as a liaison between the Assistive Technology (AT) consultant and the technology department to support the use of assistive devices and software for students in special education.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

  • Helpdesk:Manage the implementation and maintenance of helpdesk software, tools, and technologies to improve service delivery and efficiency.

Ensure that end-users receive timely and effective technical support, and that the helpdesk team is operating efficiently and effectively.
Prepare and present regular reports to leadership on helpdesk performance, metrics, and trends.
Provide training and support to end-users on how to use the systems and tools provided to them.
Provide technical support to end-users and resolve issues promptly.

  • Technical support for assigned district-wide software:User account creation and maintenance: Create new user accounts and maintain existing ones, including managing access permissions, resetting passwords, and disabling or deleting accounts as necessary.
  • Liaison between the Assistive Technology (AT) consultant and the technology department:Support the use of assistive devices and software for students in special education

Maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets, and ensure that all users have the necessary software and tools.

  • Support staff members in the use of digital tools including computers, tablets, peripherals, software, and web-based programs; provide professional development to special education and student services department staff regarding basic technology operation.
  • Provide site level technology support.
  • Maintain all standards and procedures set in place by DSC-IT and Lakeville Area Schools.
  • Participate in on-going professional learning opportunities such as diversity, equity, and inclusion training as assigned.
  • All employees of District 194 will promote and represent site safety by performing their job in a manner that reflects any and all relevant District safety guidelines or policies.
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required on an irregular basis. Technology Specialists may be asked to complete tasks in multiple buildings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Requires 2-year post-secondary certification in related field, 1 - 3 yrs. of experience, K-12 Educational experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across diverse populations.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with district employees, students, families, and the public at large.
  • Working knowledge of Apple computers, Windows computers, various tablets, and networks.
  • Working knowledge of basic productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software).
  • Requires the ability to work independently and prioritize within a demanding environment.
  • Dependable, reliable and can work independently.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and maintain/hang cabling and A/V equipment.
  • Position requires individual transportation from site to site.
