GHR Search is seeking a locum tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for a 3–6-month contract in Mishawaka, Indiana.
This facility is part of a not-for-profit, multi-hospital health system located in North Central Indiana that provides a range of community-based and post-acute services. Ideal candidates have an Indiana license, NCCPA/ANNP certification, experience in Maquet Vein Harvesting, and must be able to do first assist.
**DAY SHIFT Monday – Friday ** 8-hour days
- Local candidate preferred – Travel stipends available
- 40-hour work week – Day shift
- Night call required

Physician Assistant Position Overview:
The Cardiothoracic Surgery PA-C/NP position has clinical, procedural, administrative, and educational responsibilities in the care of adult patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery. Under the supervision of the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Heart & Vascular Director of Advanced Practice Nursing, the Cardiothoracic Surgery AHP will have a critical role in the inpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include preoperative and postoperative patient examination and assessment, diagnosis, and planning; treatment implementation, coordination, and continuity; performance of specific procedures; development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality of care; education of patients, families, and other health care practitioners.

Required Qualifications of Physician Assistant
- Must hold a current and active NP/PA license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, or critical care ICU PA experience.
- Must hold current AHA BLS and ACLS certification upon hire.
- Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position.
