About the Team:
Strategic Sourcing works with the business to meet their supplier and purchasing needs through the full lifecycle of the relationship with the goal of maximizing commercial value, selecting suppliers aligned with Mizuho standards, ensuring service and product quality, and optimizing expense management. The function is part of the Corporate Strategy and Administration division and contains both Sourcing and Purchasing teams supporting the Americas region. Mizuho Americas has achieved sustained growth and procurement needs to evolve and transform alongside the business. Investments into the function will be critical to helping procurement scale as well as developing a productive supplier ecosystem.
Role Overview:
The Supplier Relationship Management Lead - VP role is strategically important to enabling Mizuho to proactively and consistently manage its’ supplier base. The role holder will report to the Head of Strategic Sourcing and will be responsible for building out Mizuho Americas’ Supplier Management practice, collaborating with peers in Third Party Risk, Legal and other departments across the Mizuho. A large component of the role is to lead development of a Supplier Relationship Management program and to foster an environment of collaboration amongst key suppliers and stakeholders within Mizuho.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead organizational pivot to a holistic supplier based approach to procurement and build a template for managing suppliers at Mizuho

Facilitate executive-level relationships between Mizuho and important suppliers to achieve tangible outcomes

Develop, pilot, and create a implementation roadmap for a Supplier Relationship Management program

Create supplier management related principles and policies for the region to ensure value realization between suppliers and Mizuho

Develop and implement Supplier Management concepts such as a preferred provider program and a regional supplier master

Initiate relationships with key suppliers in the region as well as foster collaboration internally with these supplier relationships

Investigate and recommend solutions to facilitate supplier management across the region

Begin connecting globally within Mizuho on key supplier relationships to support regional business objectives
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have led large supplier relationships or worked in a supplier relationship program at a dynamic and fast paced financial services organization.

Strong relationship management skills to develop partnerships across the organization and with suppliers

Track record of vendor/supplier management within large, complex financial institutions

Broad understanding of internal business operating structures and navigating change within them

Stakeholder management skills including experience at supporting change across multiple functions

Strong communication skills: both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff

Ability to train stakeholders on the SRM Program and their responsibilities

Experience developing presentations in PowerPoint to communicate and influence stakeholders

Executive presence and ability to communicate issues, observations and concerns to management

Familiar with commercial engagement approaches to support large scale supplier engagement

Must be able to work as a team member & independently

Demonstrates tolerance and understanding in a multi-cultural environment

Ideally experience with large professional services suppliers and onshore/offshore capabilities
The expected base salary ranges from $121,000 - $184,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
