Our Supervisor of Aircraft Appearance supports our Purpose in their work championing Aircraft Appearance Technicians at our Atlanta, (ATL) location. This role works collaboratively with Leaders in Maintenance and Material Stores throughout the Atlanta Station to ensure Aircraft Appearance Technicians receive the necessary training, communication, awareness of regulations/policies/procedures, and overall support as they clean our aircraft. The Supervisor of Aircraft Appearance brings their leadership and unique background to the close-knit Tech Ops Team, where they'll have an opportunity to drive the future of Atlanta's Aircraft Appearance team. As an Atlanta (ATL) Supervisor Aircraft Maintenance, you can expect:
A union-based role that includes working assigned shifts based on seniority. Shifts can include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Overall supervision of all Aircraft Appearance Technicians on duty
Ensures workplace safety and that all OSHA and HAZMAT requirements are met
Ensures compliance with all TSA security requirements
Monitors productivity and labor hour requirements
Ensures the collective bargaining agreement is followed
Requests, assigns, and approves overtime
Ensures compliance of Aircraft Appearance program and task card requirements
Personally monitor, inspect and approve the completed work of aircraft exterior and interior cleaning performed on shift
Monitors Lead Appearance Technician assignments of personnel
Maintain accurate records of work accomplished each shift and provide turnover report
Ensures the Hangar and Line facilities are clean before the end of the shift
Monitors and orders cleaning supplies and notifies the Manager of Aircraft Appearance of any needs
Monitors sick leave and leaves of absence of all Appearance Technicians and takes appropriate action, including discipline when necessary
Ensures Aircraft Cleaning Vendor is complying with proper cleaning and security search procedures/policies and documentation.
Personally conducts quality audits on Aircraft Cleaning Vendor and submits results to both SWA and Vendor Leadership
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to communicate effectively, both oral and written; and have the ability to speak in a group situation
Need to be able to work independently to achieve results and in a Team environment
Must have excellent problem solving skills
Must have sufficient computer skills and have knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
Must be able to learn and utilize all Southwest Airlines and Tech Ops Department software programs.
Must be able to lead, and to establish a positive attitude with assigned personnel and other Company Employees Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience Experience
Required: 3 years of Aircraft Appearance or other Airline Operations leadership experience Licensing/Certification
Must hold a valid U.S. drivers license Physical Abilities
Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to access restricted areas requiring climbing, crawling, and kneeling Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be able to work varying shifts including nights and weekends
Must be able to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines
Must be able to travel with some overnight stays to meet the requirements of the position
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $75,725 per year to $84,100
per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For
eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional
bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion
of the company.
