Student Assistant - Data Organization Assistant Job at University Enterprises, Inc.
The Office of Health Equity (O&E) unit is looking to hire a student assistant to assist staff with a variety of tasks including but not limited to data validation of project data, organizing project partner files, assisting with filling out templates and preparing data for monthly public reports and assisting with other requests as needed.
In this position the student will primarily be serving the O&E Unit however, as the O&E Unit responsibilities are completed each month, there will also be an opportunity to assist the Breast and Cervical Treatment Program (BCCTP) Unit. The BCCTP Unit is responsible for determining eligibility and enrolling individuals into a program that provides urgently needed cancer treatment coverage for individuals who have been diagnosed with breast and/or cervical cancer. Secondary duties include various clerical tasks to ensure that new case files are established, mail is scanned and sent to the responsible analyst for review, and correspondence is printed, compiled, and mailed out to applicants and beneficiaries.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript) or DMV clearance. Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (fall, spring, and winter, if applicable) at an accredited college or university.

Work Schedule
F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 7:30 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined in collaboration with the hiring manager and selected candidate(s).
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).

Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate Student.
- Knowledge of general office processes (i.e. answering phones and preparing large mail batches monthly).
- Experience with manipulating large amounts of data in Excel.
- Experience with reviewing data to assess if there are patterns to errors found.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Requires a working knowledge of how to use personal computers (e.g. Windows Operating System), standard office equipment (i.e. scanners, copiers, printers) and software, including Word, Excel, and Internet applications, is required.
- Assist the Navigators staff with preparing monthly data submissions from project partners for validation through the division’s monthly data pulls from Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) folders for validation, reviewing results, and validating errors.
- Assist the Navigators staff with creating contract files and routinely filing documents as they are received monthly.
- Input monthly data into various tracking documents for public reporting.
- Create new case file folders within the Breast and Cervical Treatment Program (BCCTP) shared drive and save the scanned files into their appropriate folder.
- Scanning mail sent to the BCCTP eligibility analysts and filing with the other electronic case files.
- Retrieve voicemails on the BCCTP mainline and direct them to the appropriate analyst.
- Assist BCCTP staff with compiling various data elements for routine reports. Assist with consolidating/compiling various policy, process, and procedures documents into reference manuals.
- When necessary, provide backup clerical support to the BCCTP Unit to ensure critical items are opened, logged, scanned, and directed to the appropriate analytical staff.
- Other duties as required.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work is performed in an office environment at 1501 Capitol Ave, Sacramento, CA 95814.
