POSITION PURPOSE:

The Strategic Planner is responsible for assessing Thermacell's long-term strategies to ensure operational resources are aligned to achieve them. The Strategic Planner partners with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure business growth is not constrained by supply chain by ensuring strategic long-term suppliers and contract manufacturers are adequately resourced to support the business growth by laying out long terms plans and monitoring them to ensure success. The Strategic Planner will support the Sourcing team as needed as they work to identify new suppliers to support the long-range plan.

WORK LOCATION: Buford, GA

WORKING HOURS: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm but flexible


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the company's long-term (5-year) plan and translate shifts in business strategy to operational needs. This involves building and maintaining projections/models for critical and long lead component / material demand.
  • Own the long-range planning with Thermacell key suppliers and contract manufacturers. Drive and work collaboratively with Sourcing and other key players to ensure execution of programs and coordination of new program / product launches.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Thermacell key components manufacturers, partners and building out processes to support the long-range plan. Monitor and report on potential risk/gaps of the long-range plan to the Supply Chain Manager for action.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Planner and other team members to ensure requirements (for long range planning purposes) are being allocated amongst the supply base as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Identify areas where improvements can be made with key strategic partners to ensure long term goals are met cost effectively and efficiently.
  • The Strategic Planner will support risk management activities impacting the value chain by working with cross-functional teams on a given project or campaign.
  • Prepare reports on strategic ideas for evaluation by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position will include a competitive base salary as well as an annual incentive bonus tied to company and individual performance goals. Benefits for this position will include vacation benefits at a competitive level & 10 paid company holidays. Additionally, a company slow-down period is traditionally offered for one week in between Christmas and New Year's Day.

You may start contributing to our 401k after completing 30 days of service and you will be eligible for the annual contribution (equal to 3% of base salary subject to the IRS legal limit) after completing your first year.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in forecasting, supply planning or logistics.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to translate data and analytics into a narrative and present the findings/recommendation to relevant stakeholders for action.
  • Proven experience aligning processes, resource planning and organizational goals with overall strategy.
  • Ability to reasonably plan with limited data.
  • Experience using supply chain planning software and tools, NetSuite or other ERP/planning tool.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs - Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind.
  • APICS certification is a plus but not required.
