PURPOSE:
As a member of the St. Johnsbury team you will responsible to achieve optimum productivity while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Perform routine operator maintenance on assigned tools, devices, and equipment as necessary to meet prime responsibility. Notify Team Leader of any condition requiring the attention of the Maintenance Department.
  • Has the responsibility of understanding and carrying out assigned duties in conformance with customer and business requirements. Only known good work is forwarded.
  • Communicate with other departments to request raw material and supplies to eliminate need for downtime (if applicable).
  • Ensures that problems, errors and/or defects that surface in regard to products, documentation, procedures or materials are promptly brought to attention for correction.
  • Observe operation of machine to detect and correct machine malfunctions.
  • Mix resins or other glues, which involves safe handling of chemicals (depending on the job) and responsible for intensive clean-up after mixing to ensure a clean, safe and contamination-free environment.
  • Must be able to make precise and accurate measurements.
  • Has the responsibility to halt or change a process if it is not achieving planned results.
  • Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance.
  • Perform quality checks and inspect and verify own work.
  • Adhere to company safety regulations
  • Provides support and input for continual improvement projects, preventative and corrective actions.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays if necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School/Trade School Diploma required or GED
  • Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic and geometry
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper and micrometer
  • Ability to read work instructions and apply them to the job
  • Must be able to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
  • 2nd shift hours are generally 2pm - 10pm or 3pm - 11pm*
