We are looking for sterile processing technicians to join our team! We are currently offering positions for Sterile Processing Tech-In-Training, Tech I and Tech II.


About the Job
Working behind the scenes, Sterile Processing Technicians play an important role in patient safety, safe procedures start with clean instruments. This position is responsible for receiving, disassembling, and using chemical and mechanical processes to disinfect instruments, endoscopes, and equipment dispensed throughout the hospital.

  • Gains knowledge on utilization of aseptic technique, standard precautions, and use of personal protective equipment (P.P.E)
  • Gains knowledge on cause and spread of infectious diseases as they relate to Sterile Processing functions
  • Gains knowledge of department standards and processes to include AAMI/ANSI, AORN, and IAHCSMM standards and best practices
  • Gains knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to Sterile Processing functions
  • Gains knowledge on proper use and handling of caustic agents and chemicals
  • Gains knowledge of proper use of quality assurance documents and software programs for instrument tracking, sterilization record keeping, and supply distribution/materials management functions
  • Gains knowledge on how to use department specific testing equipment to diagnose and treat equipment failures to include replacing parts, demagnetizing, polishing, sending out for repair, or removing from service and documenting need for non-repairable replacement.
  • Gains knowledge of proper operation of sterilizers and high-level disinfectors, and identifies specific instrumentation and equipment that is appropriate for each process
  • Gains knowledge on operation of drying cabinets and heat sealers, as well as how to troubleshoot operational failures
  • Gains knowledge of how to use count sheet and preference cards to assemble instrument sets and case carts based on Physician preference
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Full Time, Evening Shift


Minimum Qualifications

Sterile Processing Tech-In-Training Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Meets job training requirements within 4-6 months of hire
  • Central Service Certification (C.R.C.S.T.) through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (I.A.H.C.S.M.M.) required within 2 years of hire

Sterile Processing Tech I Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion all training requirements and competencies as Sterile Processing Tech In Training
  • Central Service Certification (C.R.C.S.T.) through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (I.A.H.C.S.M.M.) required within 2 years of hire
