Description:
Select Sires, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to maintain accounting integrity while maximizing system reporting capabilities. This position prepares, analyzes, and interprets accounting records, financial reports, government reports, statistics, and accounting data processing services.
Essential duties and accountability consist of administrating all company accounting activities, to include but not limited to:
- Provide accounting and budget support to CFO and Controller
- Administer the bull consignment and royalty payment programs
- Use bank documents, payroll reports, statements, receipts, and other supporting documents relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, and a variety of other information to prepare and enter journal entries.
- Coordinate and reconcile month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers and records
- Administer the property and casualty liability insurance programs
- Serve as main liaison to tax advisors for federal and multiple state filings
- Prepare audit schedules and reports for external auditors
- Assist Controller and department heads with compilation and preparation of annual budget
- Assist with annual and various audits
- Complete and file CAUV applications and real estate taxes
- File and renew company trademarks
- Provide back-up support to Controller, Accounts Payable, and Human Resources
- Working knowledge of Corporate Accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervisor
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Provide the highest legal and ethical standards
- Passion for the agricultural industry
