Staff Accountant at CPA Firm

Job Description:

We are a growing San Jose-based public accounting firm seeking a talented Staff Accountant to work in our expanding tax practice. The ideal applicant will be Tax Accountant with one to three years of experience servicing high net worth individuals and their related entities, businesses, and families while working with their various professional advisors (attorneys, estate planners, investment advisors, insurance advisors, etc).

Responsibilities:

This individual will be responsible for preparing individual, corporate, fiduciary and estate tax returns. In addition, this individual may also be responsible for preparing financial statements with disclosures according to GAAP. Other projects assigned will include research projects on tax issues, preparation and organization of audit work papers, preparing correspondence between the client and tax authorities and transactional accounting.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required; Master’s in Accounting or Taxation Preferred. one to three years’ experience and/or training. International tax experience is a plus.

• Professional demeanor and ability to manage time effectively
• Effective communication - both written and verbal
• Sense of urgency and completion of core duties and tasks assigned
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion and confidentiality
• Must be detail oriented and accurate
• Strong accounting, analytical, documentation and research skills
• Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software and QuickBooks
