Key Responsibilities:

Senior Manager - Aircraft Records leads the Aircraft Records department to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance for the receipt, processing, and retention of aircraft maintenance records. Additionally, the Senior Manager – Aircraft Records oversees a team of managers and analysts who are responsible for United’s M&E systems (SCEPTRE) databases forecast and updates, internal and external audits of completed setups and paperwork, including aircraft maintenance records and daily component problem resolutions within the SCEPTRE database. It also provides reporting requirements to the FAA as directed by GMM procedures.

  • Ensures the accurate, timely, and complete initiation (and ongoing adjustments) of the SCEPTRE mainframe system for forecasting future airframe, engine, and component maintenance tasks, required inspections, and engineering modifications (including FAA ADs), as well as component configuration
  • Provides strategic input to develop and implement department policies and procedures that enable timely receipt, accountability, audit, and retention of maintenance compliance documents (paper/electronic), as applicable to the assigned function and fleet type airframe, engines, or components
  • Ensures the coordination of records related to recurring and special projects (i.e., FAA audits, data migrations, external FAA/Legal/Other department requests, etc.) for functional or fleet-specific status reports and maintenance compliance records
  • Ensure departmental compliance with 14 CFR 121.280 requirements, maintain GMM and Departmental Operating Procedures, and conduct SMS Risk Assessments as needed to ensure safety and best practices
  • Manage and provide resource management, including providing staff with the appropriate tools and training and professional development
  • Coordinate with other departments on projects and initiatives involving or affecting Aircraft Records
  • Up to 30 % travel (domestic and international)

What’s needed to succeed (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of end-user experience with M&E/MRO Systems
  • 5+ years of supervisory, management, and/or group leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage cross-functionally
  • Self-Motivated and engrained Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated abilities to find creative ways to enhance operational efficiencies
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage workload accordingly through task prioritization. Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle conflicting priorities
  • Ability to communicate with an executive audience and work cross-functionally
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to influence others outside area of direct responsibility
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
