Sr. Associate Athletics Director (ATH MGR 2) Job at University of California, Davis
Under general direction from the Athletics Director, the Senior Associate Athletics Director oversees Academics, Facilities and Events, Capital Projects, and Broadcast units.
Assume direct responsibility and guidance for Title IX compliance and serve on the campus -wide Title IX Committee. Serve on Big West and Big Sky Conference Senior Administrator committees. Supervises 2-5 sports. As a member of Executive Staff, provide leadership and management expertise to ICA unit directors and head coaches.
Critical senior manager with significant autonomy and decision-making responsibility that impacts the department’s compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as it relates to coaches, staff, student -athletes, and prospective student-athletes.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or combination of training and or/equivalent experience.
- Experience, analyzing, interpreting, and reviewing NCAA Division 1 rules and regulations, including Title IX.
- Experience in leadership and management of people.
- Minimum of five years management and leadership experience in a large complex intercollegiate athletics program or a related field with comparable responsibilities and oversight
- Demonstrated experience with management of budget allocation and expenditures to set and meet goals and objectives.
- Interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills to work effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with persons from diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels within and outside the University.
- Ability to prioritize high volume workloads and deadline.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience working collaboratively with the University of California or comparable public research university and campus administrators to achieve organizational objectives.
