Texarkana Therapy Center is seeking a highly motivated and passionate pediatric speech therapist. The qualified applicant will:
Provide individual client services and determine priority needs for speech therapy by:
  • Evaluation of the client’s current therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status.
  • Direction and implementation of the speech therapy treatment plan of care.
  • Participation in the development of the client’s total multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Regularly re-evaluating client progress and revising the plan of care as necessary.
  • Initiation of the speech therapy program and assisting relevant persons in certain phases of speech therapy in which they may work with the client.
  • Submitting accurate clinical notes regarding patient evaluation and attainment of goals.
  • Monitor client for reactions to treatment or changes in condition, discuss changes with the patient/family/caregiver, and report changes as necessary.
  • Assist the caregivers/families, other healthcare personnel in providing continuity of care.
  • Assess and document pediatric patients’ communication status using clinical observations, caregiver reports, and standardized testing.
  • Develop a plan for treatment that integrates the family’s values, child’s deficits, and clinical guidelines/recommendations.
  • Document ongoing progress towards goals. Address goals and provide treatment in a way that supports sensory-motor, cognitive, psychological, and behavioral development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other disciplines within the clinic- physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other professionals outside of the clinic to provide comprehensive, individualized care.
  • Follow ASHA and other research-based guidelines to evaluate and treat pediatric patients.
  • Desire to expand clinical knowledge and develop clinical reasoning skills, Education, Experience, and Certifications.
The qualified candidate will also:
  • Provide supervision for clinical students and/or volunteers.
  • Participates in staff competency by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Assists in developing strategic and long-range plans for the program. May also be required to participate in case reviews, exit staffing, medical and school consultation staffing, and school multidisciplinary team /staffing.
  • Promotes knowledge of innovation in the field of pediatric occupational therapy by keeping advised of new medical research and treatment modalities.
  • Participating in marketing events and promotional activities
  • Be self-directed and able to work with little supervision, exhibits good oral and written communication skills.
  • Seeks and obtains sufficient information necessary to function in a progressive clinic setting.
  • Flexible yet organized with the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.

Professional Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Master’s program in speech-language pathology.
  • Granted a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred, but not required.
  • New graduates seeking their Clinical Fellowship will also be considered.
  • Licensed in the state of Texas to practice.
  • Current/valid state driver’s license, vehicle in good working order, and insured in accordance with the state.

Salary and Benefits
Salary is negotiable based on experience. If you are already credentialed for Texas and/or Arkansas insurances your rate can be further negotiated. In addition, therapists with feeding and/or AAC experience as a specialty can further negotiate salaries. We are also accepting clinical fellowship SLPs.
Monthly bonuses are provided for therapists

Schedule/Hours
  • We offer optional Friday caseloads and try to be flexible with hours with our SLPs in their Monday-Thursday caseloads. We are also accepting PRN and Part-Time SLP therapists.
