Site reliability engineering (SRE)
Replacement SD ITO role in Nashville with dedicated mainframe skills to support Tier-1 mission critical field-facing apps and regulatory initiatives. The role would also play a crucial part in WMAP “go-live” initiatives, “Mainframe SRE” implementation as part of WMA mainframe application/automation initiatives and identify new mainframe observability for which skillset is not available currently. Requires focused attention on operations incidents / requests reported to business, regulatory and audit reporting, service group and WMA mainframe command center. Timelines for operations are very stringent and time-critical and need a dedicated expert. This role will help to optimize the batches and health checks especially as part of Start-of-Day activities.
Role will be integrated with WMA SRE Mainframe pod (“MAIS”) with hosting priorities focused on Mainframe competencies. This role will play key factor in toil reduction, automation and observability in mainframe space and integrate mainframe to next-gen monitoring & AIOps tools.
  • be accountable for the day-to-day management and operations of a team of application support engineers supporting Wealth Management US applications
  • be responsible for service transition activities and ability to engage at function level
  • be responsible for migration to the Cloud Platform (Azure) which is a key milestone for 2022-23
  • assess business processes with a view to driving efficiencies and project/pods with new technologies such as robotics and automation
  • interpret and analyze metric data to proactively identify and address potential system issues
  • reduce toil (work that tends to be manual, repetitive, automatable, tactical & devoid of value)
  • collaborate with infrastructure support colleagues, development and operations teams to modernize how we review and execute change
  • act as the escalation point for all customers, stakeholders and IT Management for the services provided.
  • be responsible for incident, problem and request fulfillment management processes
  • report on team performance KPIs and develop recommendations and run ad-hoc projects to improve service quality.
  • communicate complex technical issues, properly set expectations and adequately follow-up with all stakeholders
  • implement effective and efficient operational policies, processes and procedures
  • uphold high standards for timely issue resolution and optimize the service issues and gaps and implement service quality
