Sous Chef/Line Cook
The GRILL AT MORRIS BRIDGE is on the hunt for an experienced Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our team and help to prepare meals according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet our specifications, as well as providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service. Your duties include assisting the Executive Chef in monitoring kitchen activities, expediting orders to ensure quality taste or presentation, and taking on additional responsibilities in the Head Chef’s absence to ensure that kitchen staff has proper direction.
You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, taking inventory, and maintaining our standards of quality and sanitation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, multi-tasking skills and a high level of professionalism. The right candidate will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth—which you will be a part of.
Responsibilities include:
· Ensure the prep station and kitchen are set up and stocked
· Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by preparing vegetables, meats and sauces
· Help to ensure food prep and storage areas meet health and safety standards
· Clean prep areas
· Stock inventory and supplies
· Cook menu items with the support of the others kitchen staff members
Requirements:
· High school diploma or the equivalent
· Culinary Arts training preferrable (but not required)
· A minimum of three years of experience in similar role
· In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods
· Excellent communication skills
· Must be able to work nights and weekends

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
