Position Summary
Are you ready to begin your software developing career by supporting a dynamic fast paced team? MAG seeks a Software User Interface Designer & Developer, Journeyman to support the Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA) product suite; modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:

Develop the digital interface for the users of an advanced synthetic training environment software product
-
Software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats
-
Support software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
-
Work in small teams in an Agile environment and contribute with other teams to a large codebase of shared libraries and applications
-
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to create software solutions tailored to warfighter simulation needs
-
Daily responsibilities include use case analysis, UX design, implementation, and testing
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
The required skills and knowledge include:
-
Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
-
Strong creative, technical, and problem-solving skills
-
Solid experience in creating storyboards, user flows, and UI prototypes
-
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum software development processes
-
Collaborate with team members to design future enhancements
The minimum years of related experience required:
-
Minimum 3-year experience with user interface design and development
Education
The minimum level of education required is:
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Web Development, Graphic Design Engineering, Math, and Physics
Desired Requirements
The desired skills, knowledge include:

Software requirements analysis

User experience analysis
-
C++, Python, or Lua experience

UX/UI design
-
Current design patterns, strategies, and technologies

Adobe Creative Suite

HTML, CSS, JavaScript and comparable languages

UX/UI trends, standards, and best practices
Other Qualifications
Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
