Software Engineering Manager Job at Turtle and Hughes
The Information Software Business Development Manager will be driving the APR’s business strategy to accelerate growth in the Software business, and is responsible for collaborating with the Distributor Sales and Product Specialist organization and all levels of Customers to sell and exceed annual sales growth goals for Rockwell Automation’s Information Software and adjacent partner software offerings.
This position will be the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation and the distributor, provide technical, marketing, and commercial leadership for sales growth, be responsible to supporting the commercial plan for the Software business, and take a lead role in developing a competency plan to ensure that support functions (inside/outside sales) are adequately prepared to maximize share gain for the Software businesses in their APR(s).
Essential Functions:
- Outcome-based selling experience with understanding of industrial business drivers
- Plan and deliver on accelerated business growth over time
- Annual growth planning and execution including targets, competency, investments
- Lead APR focus and performance around overall Information Software business
- Able to face new challenges from the field to creatively help customers solve their application needs
- Manages complexity and adaptable to change
- Manages business with discipline
- Balance stakeholder commitments
- Understand the Opportunity funnel for the Info. SW business and be able to work with the stakeholders by prioritizing and leading a disciplined sales process.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communications, organizational and written/verbal communication skills, including speaking in front of small and large groups
- Partnering mindset. Work hand in hand Delivery partners in a trusting and collaborative environment while pursuing opportunities.
- Serve as domain expert around Information Software and related Services, and continuously build competency
- Ability to speak with customers, demonstrating technical expertise while instilling confidence and credibility
- Must be adaptable, able to new learn new products / technologies, especially those adjacent products outside area of expertise
- Deep technical focus in Information Software portfolio
- Able to analyze market conditions, develop an annual business plan and coordinate its implementation.
- Able to administer and implement marketing, promotion programs, and product launches
- Ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to attack competition and grow market penetration
- Ability to define and grow new markets for emerging product technologies.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering –OR– equivalent combination of skills, experience or education
- 5 Years of experience / knowledge applying RA’s products or equivalent competitive software solutions; less for entry level
- Inspire, influence, lead and communicate across a diverse team not under direct management
- Regularly overcome objections
- Good technical writing & presentation skills with ability to present topics to mid / large size groups of customers (external and internal)
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated
