How you’ll make an impact:

We are seeking a talented, driven Director, Software Engineering to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage a very high-performing team of engineers that build, own, and maintain backend services at scale. You will design, collaborate, and execute building a new streaming platform at scale.

What you’ll do:

• Design and build a new platform to power SiriusXM services

• This role will manage a geographically dispersed team.

• Lead and grow a team of high-performing engineers

• Work with a team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process

• Build high-performance, stable, scalable systems to be deployed in an enterprise setting

• Lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions

• Provide mentoring and advice for other engineers

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree.

• 5+ years leading software engineering teams in a technical organization.

• 3+ years of managing other senior leaders.

• Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers.

• Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.

• Has successfully built resilient multi-region microservices at scale by leveraging AWS

• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

• Build & Release best practices

• Experience with event-driven systems architectures

• Technical experience in the following areas:

• AWS - ECS, DynamoDB Global tables, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, Kinesis Firehose, SQS, etc.

• Coding - Scala, Http4s, Cats Effect 3, SBT, etc.

• Observability - Cloudwatch, DataDog

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $148,000 to $260,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
