Summary

Our organization is growing rapidly and looking for site directors to run our after-school programs. If you are interested in running an after-school site as a part of the Boys & Girls Club team, we welcome you to apply.

The right candidate will be creative, energetic, and organized individual and will oversee programming and daily enrichment activities for multiple locations on an as-needed basis. The Site Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs for youth. Activities operated within the program shall support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. The position also provides leadership and supervision to assigned program staff and volunteers.

Duties
  • Establish site programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and creates an outcome-driven Club experience.
  • Promote and stimulate program participation; register new members and participate in their club orientation process - provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Ensure that all childcare licensing requirements per the NH Childcare Licensing Bureau are implemented.
  • Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisors to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, advise/counsel.
  • Maintain professional contact with community members, community leaders and organizations, Club parents, and others to assist in resolving situations and in order to develop and maintain partnerships.
  • Report on grants as needed.
  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club.
  • Effectively manage a budget; control expenditures against budget when required.
  • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver's license, high school diploma or general equivalency diploma and one of the following:
  • Written documentation form on file with the department that she or he was qualified and employed as a site director in a school-age program.
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in early childhood education, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Certification of successful completion of training as a recreation director plus 1000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program.
  • A total of 12 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, from a regionally accredited college plus 1000 hours of experience working with children.
  • Current certification as an educator by the department of education.
  • Experience working with children totaling 2000 hours and the following: Current certification as a para II educator by the department of education OR at least 6 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, from a regionally accredited college (can be enrolled in first course with a written plan to complete 6 credits within 12 months of the date of employment).
  • First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.

Benefits

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Hours are between 2 pm and 6 pm daily, 20 to 25 hours per week.
