JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Silver Roamer Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Senior Services
POSITION SUMMARY
The essential functions of the position is to assist the Silver Roamer Coordinator with all trips and programing for the active adult groups in Cherokee County. The person must have a desire to work with seniors and an outgoing personality. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and be creative in programing and trip ideas.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as an initial contact for Silver Roamers with phone and emails.
- Registration for monthly meetings, events, trips and activities.
- Communicate with vendors to insure activities are set up to include restaurants and trip locations.
- Drive a 14-passenger van and ultimately obtain a CDL to drive the larger bus.
- Assist with creating the monthly newsletter and making copies for meetings.
- Learn Rec 1 System to handle registrations for events and trips.
- Assist with front desk duties.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High School Diploma
2 years’ experience in aging
Basic computer skill s

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is acceptable.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Current Driver’s License
CPR Certification within the first 3 months of the position
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Outgoing personality is a must and willingness to work with a great team.
Dependability is a must for this position.
