Freedom Cement in North Brookfield, MA is looking for a full-time Shop Laborer.
Freedom Cement, LLC was started to provide historically accurate materials to restoration contractors. In 2010 Freedom Cement resumed production of natural cement from Rosendale, New York. We currently produce natural cement from the Lawrence mine in Rosendale. Freedom cement is the only supplier that publicly declares its natural cement rock is mined in Rosendale, NY, and has full control of the production and distribution of natural cement from Rosendale, NY. The following is a list of historic projects that Freedom Cement provided material for: Fort Jefferson, Fort Adams, Fort Washington, Fort Pickens, Fort Jackson, Monticello, Poplar Forest, Blair House, Royal Orchard, Newport Country Club, Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian House at Florida Southern University, High Bridge NY and many others. In an effort to expand our range of services to the architectural community, in 2016 Freedom Cement began the production of Microcotta in their North Brookfield facility.
Summary Description
Laborers perform general duties in our Microcotta shop. Duties include operating basic hand tools, assisting mold makers, mixing Microcotta, and pouring. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle Material
- Perform Housekeeping Duties
- Operate Basic Hand Tools and Powered Tools
- Perform work safely and follow established work procedures
- Perform General Tasks as assigned by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge and respect of shop safety
- Able to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to communicate orally
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic had tools
- Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic
- Must have reliable transportation. There is no public transportation to this facility
